Jaunts

There is a land I still do not know.
Its name I've heard, it's colours I've seen.
And yet all this I've done from afar.
Maybe it is time to take a closer look,
oh, will it be as I imagine?

In the short time I have roamed around
Two realisations have come to my senses:
To explore is a sense of freedom,
To witness is a privilege.

All hopes and dreams come alive,
As I set foot on that plane.

And the mother cried for her weeping child
For though he was almost always alone
This burden was there for her to share.
Today she found him bruised inside out
She didnt have much to give except her love.
So many times she feared it will not be enough.
So many nights she slept by his door
Frantically leaping up at the smallest of sounds

And the child wept more for his crying mum
And the sufferance he brought her, he couldn't tolerate.
Today he knew, it had gone too far.
'But momma I try, they just won't stop.
They shout and they push and prey on my lonesome'.
The dark brings peace to his heavy heart.
The light an awakening of truth and fights.
Maybe tomorrow, he will win this round.

And so the mother and the child cried on
Hoping tomorrow brings a brighter dawn.
Their suffering's end they did not see
But in peace the bully was not to be.

Dont tell me you didnt catch the fire in my eyes
Dont tell me you didnt realise my heart had skipped a beat
Oh, young and naive boy
Is it that hard to see
The mind  tries to forget but the heart won't  set it free

And after the heart was broken
The fragments only remained
And the memories made it harder
For me to forget your name

Wait for me now,
I have a plan.
Let us start over
Let us dance again

Tonight the moon shines and we are like stars
Distant but enchanting
With fire caught in our eyes
And a heart with a missing beat

University Life!

Hi there bloggers!

It's been a while, I know. However, a lot has been going on lately and I haven't found the right time to just sit down and write. So, as you can guess from the title, I started university at the beginning of this month! P.S. I did actually make it into my first preference course so hurray to that!

University life is turning out to be quite a laid-back kind of thing.. or at least it looks that way till now. My timetable is simply perfect.. Fridays off, starting at noon on a Monday, what more can you ask for?!

The main idea behind this post is that I wanted to give a few suggestions about any essentials that a girl might need in uni. Basically, the first, big need in university is a cute bag to carry your stuff in. Most girls in my university wear handbags with long straps so I did feel a bit weird with my old rucksack and ended up buying a new bag. Also, make sure that you have quite a numerous selection of leggings/jeans because it is so tiring to find a different outfit every single day of the week. As far as shoes go... there are never enough pairs of shoes. And that's the end of that.

I also have a little list of make-up items that I use every morning. This list is specifically aimed at all those who have a mere 5 minutes to get ready because they wake up late, like I always do. All you need is a concealer, eye liner, mascara and a subtle lipstick. It takes no time to apply them and you're set for the day. (On the rare occasions when I have some time to spare, I also put on some mattifying powder and blusher.)

Last but not least, colourful, varied stationary helps in keeping things interesting while you're jotting down notes!

Weird things during movies...

Hello fellow bloggers!

Today's post is inspired by various YouTube videos I have seen in the past few days. I don't know if it's ever happened to you, but sometimes, while watching a movie you realize that there are some things which are awfully weird. By weird, I mean things which are really impractical.

The first thing that I find absurd are some scary scenes in movies when a character is alone at home and s/he hears a noise.
What the character does : gets up and shouts; "Hello?! Who is there?"
What should actually happen: *character runs towards phone to call police and grabs the deadliest object in the household for self-defense*.
I mean, if someone has really broken into your house, I don't think that they came to have a nice conversation over a cup of tea, did they??

Point number two. How do people in movies always know who's calling them without actually looking at their mobile screen? They just answer with a simple "Hey, where were you? I've been calling you for ages!", and that's practically it.

Then there are those times when someone is looking for another person. Basically in one scene you hear the person say that she needs to find her friend and in the next, that same person walks into a shop/bar/restaurant where her friend is. How?! P.S. Most of the time the two persons involved would be in a fight so it is not possible that either of them texts/calls the other.

Oh, and have you ever noticed how people in movies just walk into their houses without unlocking the door? I also notice this during the above mentioned scary scenes... Sometimes a noise is heard and after a bit of tension, we all realize that it was just a friend visiting or something. How did that person manage to get into the house?

Have you noticed any other weird things going on in movies? If so, please leave a comment below and I'll make sure to read it :). *Rant over*.

Anywhere, everywhere.

Hello there fellow bloggers!

It's been a while since the last time I wrote something here. Frankly, I've been having this 'block' and I can't think of anything worth writing. The fact that I'm constantly at work doesn't help either.

To try and come up with a few good ideas, I decided to simply focus on what's going on in my life at the moment. Recently me and my two best friends started thinking about going to London. So today I'm just going to jot down my travel wishlist. Travelling is such a marvelous thing! I mean, we live in this huge, beautiful world and it is saddening that we barely get to see any of it by the time that we die. I don't want that to be my story. I've done some thinking and I finally picked my top 5 destinations! I have never been in any of the destinations listed below so I will re-read this post every time I lack the motivation to go to work and remind myself why I need my wages ;).
  • Paris, France.
Arrgghhh, this city is too beautiful. I'd teleport myself there at this very instant if I could. There is so much to see... Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Versailles, Moulin Rouge. And these are just the known beauties. Imagine what one can discover while roaming the streets!

  • Scotland and Ireland
These two countries fascinate me for their raw countryside and at the same time their lovely cities. P.S. I also want to go there for the sake of hearing the native's lovely accents 24/7. I know it won't be happening anytime soon but I'll just keep looking forward to the day I set foot on either one of these wonders.

  • Germany/Austria
I don't really have a particular city or village that I want to visit in either of these countries. Well, maybe Bavaria and Dresden in Germany and the Austrian Tyrol would be on top of the list.

  • New York City, USA

Moving out of my continent, I think that this is where I want to go most. The name New York itself is legendary, so I can't begin to picture what the actual city would be like. Imagine standing in the middle of all the hustle and bustle that you see on movie screens! One ticket, please. No return.

  • St. Petersburg, Russia
It was tough to decide the last spot. I really want to visit the Oriental world, but somehow St. Petersburg intrigues me more. The architecture in this city is beyond mind-blowing. For those of you who love the colour gold; this city will be the end of you.

There it is... My Top 5 'Want-To-Go' list. I didn't really put the destinations in any particular order, I love all of these places way too much to decide between them.

That's all for today x. Please let me know if there any destinations which are, in your opinion, better than these.

Transitional Stage

So, a while back I wrote about how nice it was to get rid of exams. Then, during the weeks that followed, I started thinking that results were soon going to be in. So, obviously I felt a bit anxious. I just hoped that I had got the grades that I needed.

Last Friday was the day. I received my results at about noon and I must say for a day I felt on top of the world. I passed all my exams and I didn't have to worry about resits or not being able to go into University or anything like that. But here's the problem. Just when you think that everything's all right, another obstacle gets in your way and at the moment it feels bigger than the previous one. Now that I have my results I have to decide upon my future. Which course to take, what I want to do, how I want to spend my working life.

Now you see, I do have a course in mind. The only downside to it is that only a limited number of students are accepted into this course. I can't help feeling upset at the thought that there is a chance that I'm not in those top places and I would have to go into the course I choose as a second preference. Let's face it, this is a life changing decision. What if we make the wrong decisions at times like these? This is a transitional stage. And a very important one, as a matter of fact. Basically right now I am wrecking my brain on what I'm to do if I don't get into this course and saying that I'm confused is an understatement.

Well if there are any of you out there who are feeling lost and tired of constantly having to worry about something; you must know that you are not alone. So don't stress yourself too much! Instead, you can always leave a comment below on what's bothering YOU right now. I'd be more than glad to read all about it :).

Hasta la pròxima vez!
